It is even not unusual for individuals to shed at least twenty pounds in weight over a period of two weeks!
A specific Scarsdale diet menu is what makes the Scarsdale diet so effective and even with no daily workouts needed. As a result of the low carb high protein diet, workouts are not normally recommended.
The Scarsdale diet menu program was developed by a medical doctor and that is the reason why the Scarsdale diet is also called Scarsdale medical diet. It has been used for over 30 years especially by individuals who are obese.
How the Scarsdale Diet Works
Weightwatchers must adhere to the Scarsdale diet menu firmly for a period of 14 days, during which rapid weight loss of at least 7 pounds is guaranteed. After completing the two week diet regime, you are free to change to maintain so called trim eating period or keep-trim phase for a minimum of 14 days. During this period you can arrange your own menu for next 14 days from a list of allowed food items.
After adhering to a keep-trim diet for two weeks, you will embark on the Scarsdale diet for an additional two weeks of strict low carb high protein diet, followed by another 14 days of keep-trim diet. This sequence is repeated until your objective has been achieved.

Scarsdale Diet Day One
Breakfast
- One cup of coffee or tea with sugar
- Half grapefruit and one slice of toast.
Lunch
- Mixed nuts with tomatoes.
- 1 cup of tea or coffee
Dinner
- Broiled fish, chicken or beef. There is no limitation to how much you can take.
- Salad. However, do not use salad dressing.
- Grapefruit.
Scarsdale diet day two
Breakfast
- one cup of black or sweetened coffee
- Half grapefruit.
- One slice of toasted bread.
Lunch
- You are allowed to take as much fruit salad as you like so long as there is no salad dressing used.
Dinner
- You are allowed to consume as much lean protein as you can. This can be taken alongside tomatoes, cucumbers or celery.
Scarsdale diet day three
Breakfast
- one cup of black or sweetened coffee
- One slice of toasted bread.
- Half grapefruit.
Lunch
- You can take as much tuna as you like with a cup of coffee or grapefruit.
Dinner
- You can take as much as broiled lean pork as you want. This can be coupled with green salad plus a cup of coffee.
Scarsdale Diet Day Four
Breakfast
- one cup of black or sweetened coffee
- One slice of toasted bread.
- Half grapefruit.
Lunch
- Two boiled or fried eggs.
- Cottage cheese
- String beans
- One slice of toasted bread.
- One cup of coffee.
Dinner
- Roast chicken. However, make sure that the skin has been removed.
- Green beans.
- One cup of coffee.
